An Italian company who designs, manufactures and sells engines for industrial on-road, off-road, marine and power generation vehicles.
Client Challenges
The client requested the creation of a tool developed with augmented reality technology to improve the efficiency of routine maintenance and service activities, reducing possible errors.
The application had to be accessible through devices already in use by the client, through which the maintenance technician is “guided” in the main phases of the job, according to a plan indicated by a prepared Work Instruction.
The simple and intuitive interface has provided an expandable starting point to extend the AR methodology to the rest of the systems devices in the future.
Solve.it Solutions
The proposal by Solve.it took shape through a Pilot Project that aimed to equip the client with a tool that, in addition to being immediately usable for the intended purposes, could give an indication of its potential and allow the methodology to be expanded to the rest of the systems.
The main steps delivered were as follows:
- Design of maintenance product (Management + AR App)
- Development and testing of software solution (Management + AR App)
- Launch support and release acceptance
