The company is the owner and operator of the Automated Clearing House that processes interbank commercial payments, namely SENT.
The system has a unique status on the Romanian market as the only solution of its kind which enables instant payments processing.

It’s here where Stefanini has played a role, transforming TRANSFOND’s approach to application testing by helping the company move from time-consuming manual testing to best practice automated testing.
Building the strategy
The first phase of Stefanini’s project with TRANSFOND involved creating a best practice strategic framework for automated application testing.
TRANSFOND had noted that its existing manual testing approach was not just time-consuming, but had also missed certain minor errors.
Following an RFP, Stefanini was selected based on the strength of its ideas, approach and experience in Software development and testing for the financial sector.

Stefanini set about creating a best practice framework for app testing automation that was carefully tailored to the needs of TRANSFOND’s business.

This methodology included a full roadmap for transitioning towards automated testing and a proprietary list of software and open source solutions that would enable TRANSFOND to switch to a more efficient and accurate testing approach.
This methodology has not only helped the business by establishing a quicker and more accurate quality assurance approach but also means that TRANSFOND’s team is able to reallocate time towards other more complex challenges.
Implementing the strategy
Along with developing the best practice methodology, Stefanini has also partnered with TRANSFOND to put this into practice and implement automated testing of its payment system.
Having kicked off at the beginning of this year, this second phase has already helped the business achieve exceptional results and demonstrated the effectiveness of the strategy Stefanini developed during phase one of the partnership.
Some 30% of TRANSFOND’s testing processes for its payment system are now automated and this has already reduced the amount of time testing takes to complete by 95%. A test that once took three people four days to carry out can now be completed in just two hours.
This new automated approach has also already identified bugs that were missed during the original manual testing process, allowing TRANSFOND to patch new versions of its software and ensure the solution continues to work as effectively as possible.

An automated future
With Stefanini’s best practice guidelines in place and a successful implementation of automated testing on TRANSFOND’s payment system, the company now plans to extend automation throughout its operations, ensuring quality assurance testing and reporting are conducted by modern tools rather than people.
Replicating the approach devised by Stefanini will create consistent, accurate insights and free up time throughout the organization to focus on other more complex tasks.
Possible areas of TRANSFOND’s business where automation could be applied in the future include its invoicing solution and its document management offering.
Following the success of the partnership, Stefanini and TRANSFOND have also discussed additional plans for the year ahead, including how to extend automation and use hardware more efficiently.
