Marco Stefanini To Speak About The AI Journey At The B20 Summit Brazil 2024

Event will gather approximately 1,000 business representatives in São Paulo to offer recommendations from the private sector to G20 leaders.

Brazil, October 2024 – A global leader in Artificial Intelligence, the founder and Global CEO of the Stefanini Group, Marco Stefanini, will participate in the B20 Summit Brazil 2024, which takes place at the Clube Atlético Monte Libano, in São Paulo, on October 24th and 25th. On the first day, the executive will take to the stage to participate in the panel “AI Journey: Navigating challenges and accelerating productivity,” from 4:50 PM to 5:40 PM. The panel will also feature Fabio Coelho, CEO of Google in Brazil; Manny Maceda, Worldwide Managing Partner Emeritus, Bain & Co.; and Fariba Wells, Vice President of Global Government Affairs and Policy at Kyndryl.

The objective of this panel is to reflect on corporate practices and rethink the development of public policies, considering the opportunities and challenges brought by the rise of AI and the increasing volume and speed of data circulation. According to a survey by the Digital Transformation Task Force of the B20, the business arm of the G20 in Brazil, coordinated by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), the emergence of AI has brought new and complex concerns related to responsibility, ethics, security, protection, and sustainability, presenting a significant challenge that requires collaborative action by nations and organizations. In 2023 alone, more than US$10 billion was invested in financing for generative AI solutions.

With over 13 years of expertise in developing and implementing Artificial Intelligence in various segments, the Stefanini Group has been actively participating in the debate on the challenges and opportunities with Artificial Intelligence. During the panel, Marco Stefanini will offer practical and applicable insights on the use of AI. Among them, one that seeks, together with a leading company in the mining sector, to preserve the environment, protect and recover more than 1.2 million acres in the Amazon rainforest.

With a solution that encompasses sensitive environmental variables such as air and water quality, as well as detection of forest fires, through data analysis, IoT technology, and machine learning algorithms, the Stefanini Group allowed the company to reduce the negative environmental impact resulting from adverse events, in addition to strengthening preservation practices in the region.

The CEO will also discuss how applied AI contributes to predicting automotive regulations, resulting in millions of dollars saved in operational costs; the development of new Artificial Intelligence models for real time process monitoring in the steel industry, increasing safety and efficiency; financial fraud controls with AI and online research platforms to create communities and conduct studies with agile and qualitative methodologies.

In the area of marketing, active listening and social insights identified the possibility of relaunching a nostalgic fragrance from a large cosmetics and perfumery company. AI was applied to the entire advertising campaign, resulting in significant community engagement—42% above the performance target in just 10 days, with an average of 17 products sold per minute during the sales cycle.

At Banco Inter, generative AI reduced the time required to complete tasks by 75.56%. Automated tasks enabled work to be executed quickly and efficiently. There was a 45% reduction in the number of repetitions in communications related to office service, increasing the institution’s NPS.

Artificial Intelligence also plays an important role in people’s inclusion. A global beauty company used Stefanini Group’s AI integrated with Microsoft Teams for meetings with teams worldwide. By providing real-time translation in over 20 languages, the company eliminated the language barrier and made communication more effective. In the Public Defender’s Office of the State of São Paulo, AI helped reduce absenteeism and multiply the time of defenders to serve more people in the area of Family Law, 90% of whom are low-income women.

“One cannot make the mistake of implementing Artificial Intelligence simply to have it. It is necessary to use not only AI but any technology to solve real business problems. What we have observed in successful cases with our clients is the significant leap in business productivity. By transforming processes with AI embedded in applications, companies can measure, in fact, the impact on their main goals, whether in profit, revenue, sustainability, and efficiency,” says Marco Stefanini, for whom the discussions in Brazil will leave a great legacy for the next B20 in South Africa.

The CEO also advocates for the use of AI in education. “Technology is a unique opportunity to reduce the existing gap between emerging and developed countries, and can contribute to the training of professionals for the labor market of the present and future,” emphasizes Stefanini.

In this context, the B20 proposes recommendations that prepare a resilient and productive workforce for the future of work, which is diverse, inclusive, and adaptable with the aim of promoting innovation and sustainable growth.

B20 Brazil 2024

The B20 is the global dialogue forum that connects the business community to G20 governments, mobilizing more than a thousand private sector representatives from member countries. The Brazilian edition brings together seven task forces and an action council. The working groups are composed of Brazilian and foreign entrepreneurs who have been discussing, since the beginning of the year, proposals on urgent topics: Trade and Investment, Finance and Infrastructure, Employment and Education, Energy Transition and Climate, Digital Transformation, Integrity and Compliance, Sustainable Food Systems and Agriculture, in addition to the Women, Diversity, and Inclusion in Business Action Council.

The suggestions were delivered to the G20 leadership, which this year is chaired by the Brazilian government, in a broader document called the Communiqué that brings together 24 recommendations and public policy actions on different topics. For the first time, the guidelines developed by the eight task forces of the private sector engagement group were delivered in advance to the G20 leadership. The idea is to sensitize world leaders before the G20 summit, which will be held in November in Rio de Janeiro.
