Stefanini is set to play a major role in advising on the growth of the Spanish economy, as well as supporting Spanish businesses seeking to expand in Brazil, following its appointment as Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Spain (CCBE).
Representing Stefanini, Raul López, Digital Transformation Strategist, Stefanini EMEA, will hold the role of CCBE Vice President for the next three years.
Stefanini was nominated for the Vice Presidency by Telefónica, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies and current President of the CCBE.
“It’s a true honour to be Stefanini’s representative as Vice Presdient of the CCBE. We’re proud that Telefónica has recognized the important role Stefanini can play as Brazil’s largest multinational technology company in helping to forge strong business relationships between Brazil and Spain,” says Raul.
Upcoming plans for the CCBE include the creation of a digital hub that will faciliate increased businesses between CCBE members, as well as creating a competition that will celebrate the most exciting start-up businesses in Brazil and Spain.
Building on the Brazil-Spain relationship
The CCBE is one of the oldest existing Chambers of Commerce in Spain and plays a key role in fostering economic, commercial, cultural and social relations between Brazil and Spain. The CCBE is dedicated to enhancing the constructive and strategic relationship between the two countries, which have a shared history of almost 100 years.
In 2020, Spanish companies conducted close to €900m worth of business in Brazil and employed more than 200,000 people in the country.
Spain’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trinidad Jimenez, is the current Director of Public Affairs Global Strategy at Telefónica, and will represent the telecommunications giant as President of the CCBE.
Alongside Stefanini and Telefónica, other businesses represented on the CCBE board of directors include Acciona, Mapfre, Santander, Siemens Gamesa and Iberdrola.
“The fact that we have a well-known former government minister as the CCBE President is great news, boosting the profile of the Chamber of Commerce and helping to ensure we can deliver powerful results – both for businesses and the Brazil-Spain relationship,” adds Raul.
