Hackathon fosters interaction within the client’s team, training professionals and reducing operating costs
São Paulo, January 2025. A transformative hackathon boosted automation and data management, delivering four innovative pilot solutions, training 20 professionals, and strengthening efficiency and inclusion for employees at a renowned financial institution with branches all over Brazil. The team at N1 IT, a Stefanini Group company focused on cloud services, modern work and digital security consulting, was responsible for the studies, assessments, and for proposing solutions to this potential client’s challenges.
One of this client’s business units was facing challenging situations related to operational efficiency and process management. The risk management department focused on operational, credit, and market risks. This shared services model was created with the aim of increasing efficiency, reducing operating costs, and improving the quality of services provided, mainly through automation and data integration.
However, there was an urgent need for optimization, since a lack of automation resulted in repetitive manual tasks, increasing costs and the likelihood of failures. In addition, the lack of training initiatives made it difficult to retain talent and engage staff, compromising the client’s competitiveness in the market. To overcome these pains, it was essential to look for innovative solutions that integrated advanced technologies and provided an even more efficient and collaborative working environment.
In order to enhance and streamline the business unit’s services, N1 IT, in partnership with the Stefanini Group, organized the PowerHacka hackathon event, aimed at training and developing innovative solutions. During the event, 20 professionals were trained in Power Platform and SharePoint in order to specifically address pain points related to this important department’s internal processes. The participants worked on real cases, resulting in the creation of four pilot solutions, ready for application. Automation of processes, one of the main priorities of the initiative, has enabled not only the optimization of internal operations, but also a significant increase in the effectiveness of the teams.
PowerHacka’s results couldn’t have been more successful. “The automation of this prospective client’s processes has generated an estimated 33% increase in productivity, a reduction of up to
30% in rework and a 40% reduction in approval times. These achievements not only improved our client’s operational efficiency, but also reinforced their commitment to innovation and continuous team training,” says Nivaldo Araujo, CEO of N1 IT.
