Thinking About A Career In IT? Start Here

Being a student or at the beginning of your career can be challenging. Even switching paths after gaining some experience isn’t always easy.

Getting started in IT can feel overwhelming, especially without prior experience. That was the case for many of today’s Support Engineers in Chișinău and Bălți when they joined Stefanini. But as they settled in, they quickly realized something important: it’s not just about the role or the skills you build, it’s also about the people around you and the environment that helps you grow.

“I’d known Stefanini for a while […] but what keeps me here now is the people. I have supportive colleagues, an amazing team leader, and the flexibility to balance work and studies,” says Ludmila Friptu. That idea comes up again and again. “The team is incredibly supportive […] there is no day without jokes or memes. It really brings us together,” adds Pavel Țapu.

For many, the biggest hesitation at the beginning is simple: What if I don’t have experience? But inside the team, that fear fades quickly.

“Starting at Stefanini was a positive experience. Despite being new to IT, I was welcomed with open arms and guided every step of the way,” Pavel says. And he’s not the only one who felt that. “I received a ton of support […] not once was I turned away when I had questions,” Ludmila shares. “That made a huge difference in how quickly I was able to grow.”

And there’s a pattern: people don’t just learn here, they’re guided. “As my first job, I received invaluable help. The training, shadowing sessions, and feedback made everything easier to understand, even without prior experience,” explains Valeriu Cebotari. And the support doesn’t disappear after onboarding. “My team leader and colleagues were always there to guide me and share their experience,” adds Artiom Scolneac.

Once you feel that kind of support, things start to click. You gain confidence. You find your rhythm. And then something else becomes important: balance. “I’m able to attend university, go to the gym, and take additional courses, all while managing my work,” Ludmila says. “You’ll never find something as flexible as this […] there is space for everything,” adds Gheorghe Pruteanu. For many, this is where things shift from “just a job” to something more. You’re learning. You’re growing. And you’re doing it at your own pace.

So if you’re thinking about starting in IT but feel unsure, maybe this is all you need to hear:

“Go for it, especially if you’re a student,” Ludmila says.
“If you’re interested in IT, don’t be afraid to take the first step,” Artiom adds. Because in the end, this isn’t just about getting a job. It’s about getting started.

And sometimes, that’s the hardest, and most important, step.
