International Women’s Day 2023: Co-Creating For The Future Of Technology

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is Embracing Equity.

Equity is very different from equality. Equity means acknowledging that different groups require different resources and support to achieve the same outcome. Without embracing equity, society cannot become more inclusive, and ultimately, more equal.

We at Stefanini have embedded seven key attitudes into our culture as part of our commitment to equity.

Stefanini’s 7 attitudes to Equity Diversity & Inclusion:

Our day-to-day attitudes can influence the quality of the relationships that we build internally and externally. These attitudes are:

  1. Be proud to be part of Stefanini: We view obstacles as opportunities and encourage all personal contributions, responsibilities and goals while keeping our mission and values in mind.
  2. Respect and believe in people: Participate and contribute to a team environment by furthering mutual respect and working towards a common goal.
  3. Lead by example: Excel in the art of attracting, motivating, and retaining talent to our team. Our leaders are thoughtful when attracting, motivating, and retaining their team members.
  4. Be ethical, matching your words and actions: Lead relationships with honesty and openness, respect the differences in culture, background, onion and perspective when dealing with colleagues, clients, and external contacts.
  5. Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on results: Personally take responsibility for your results. “Own” your work/business with authority and responsibility and push for results that are above expectations.
  6. Serve the client: For each client, we set priorities on effective communication, objectivity, and responsiveness. Our colleagues are resilient, and do not give up at the first sign of difficulty when looking for a solution.
  7. Excel at your tasks: We value dedication, talent, thought leadership, and commitment. We encourage all our colleagues to search for knowledge and innovative by proposing solutions that best fit our clients’ needs.

These values serve as the foundation of our collaborative culture and enable us to support our communities and foster an atmosphere where everyone can succeed. Without them, we would not be able to collaborate to create valuable solutions that are adapted to the business goals of our partners and clients and transform the business landscape.

Equity at Stefanini

In celebration of IWD, we’ve asked Stefanini EMEA’s People & Culture Director, Andreea Miron, to talk about how we embrace equity, diversity and inclusion at Stefanini and how we work to build a culture that ensures everyone thrives. She commented that:

“Businesses are starting to discuss social issues including racial and ethnic inequality, socioeconomic inequality, and intergenerational cooperation that were formerly taboo in the workplace. As part of their long-term plan, HR executives are now paying particular attention to this issue”.

Our Equity Demographics

“Candidates look at a company’s approach to diversity and inclusion before deciding whether or not they want to work there – after all, diversity and inclusion policies can be used to attract and retain talent.” Andreea Miron, EMEA’s People & Culture Director at Stefanini.

At Stefanini, we are constantly working to establish an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender identity, sexuality, age or ethnicity, has the opportunity to succeed. From baby boomers (2%) to Gen Z (27%), Stefanini is happy to employ members of every generation.

We are motivated by strong female leaders who, like Sherly Sandberg, the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Meta Platforms, have changed how organizations and individuals use digital solutions. She is not just a successful businesswoman but also a supporter of women working in STEM fields and the technology sector. Millions were inspired by her motivating TED Talk from 2010 titled “Why we have too few women leaders,” which also raised awareness of gender inequity.

We prioritize gender equity at the executive level, and we offer valuable mentorship and role models to women across the organization. Women are strongly represented at Stefanini EMEA, where the management team has a female representation rate of 47.1% and the executive team has a female executive representation rate of 45.5%.

Obviously, there is still work to be done before we have full gender parity, but at Stefanini, our innovative ecosystem enables us to adapt new behaviors, integrate them into our culture, and conduct ourselves responsibly.
